After a special month of non-stop, seven-days-a-week projects, including board meetings, investor relations, management support, general business development, annual meetings, annual reports, coaching of entrepreneurs, quarterly reports, business plans, presentation design, investment memorandums, etc.
I was honored as Star of the Month by my board during a board meeting dinner.
Today with rain, like an English summer, Feel the velvet of my dinner jacket, Stepping out from a weekday poster, Wishing the evening will start, And fade to midnight black.
It's time for me to reboot my business and convene in Gothenburg to foster new business collaborations between us. As per our tradition, I'll bring along a thoughtfully chosen bottle of wine, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions, setting the stage for discussions on how we can synergize for business advancement. The upcoming gathering will highlight Riesling as we engage in productive dialogues. Just send a message to join - it's an open invitation.
Ordinarily, wine isn’t a matter of chance; it’s crafted deliberately. We make our wine choices thoughtfully, yet occasionally, convenience trumps curiosity, and we settle for the nearest option without further investigation.
This takes me to the Mosel Valley, an enchanting expanse where exquisite wines and breathtaking landscapes converge. The paramount white grape, Riesling, originates here. After a day tracing the meandering river, we pause to switch drivers, unexpectedly stumbling upon a quaint wine cellar. A German lady, who resides above, extends her hospitality, showcasing her family’s meticulously curated collection spanning three generations.
With her knowledgeable guidance, making a selection becomes effortless. I firmly believe that Riesling is the quintessential white grape. Although I’ve explored diverse German regions, the allure of Mosel remains unparalleled.
Especially on Fridays like this, when I’m granted an hour by the sea, reflections of Mosel inundate my thoughts. A classic Riesling bottle awaits beside the shoreline—an tangible emblem of the captivating journey undertaken as a cultural wine enthusiast.
Do you know those Fridays when the sun shines just right, bringing a calm serenity? When everything falls into place and you’re just one step away from starting the weekend?
This particular Friday felt just like that. I was moving, and the lift proved invaluable for moving each package of furniture up. However, the real challenge arose with the last furniture package and a lift door that seemed to have a mind of its own, always wanting to close just as I tried to open it. Just when I thought all was set, and I was about to descend, another challenge arose. The lift doors refused to open, leaving me trapped inside. Worse yet, I was without my mobile phone. Fortunately, the family outside managed to locate my phone and placed it near the lift. This allowed me to connect my Apple Watch to the phone and communicate with the outside world. Help was on the way.
When a lift comes to an unexpected halt, the ensuing silence feels endless. It’s like an unintended retreat, a moment of introspection, where you’re forced to develop your mind and gain new insights. Until your rescuing angel arrives to free you, it’s a time of reflection on life and its meaning.
Perhaps there’s no other moment quite like finally touching solid ground again, feeling the freedom to move unfettered. And the beer that awaits you after such a trial? It’s a taste of sweet victory, unlikely to be surpassed by any future sip.
The distinctive ‘tie of the day’ is back. Today’s pick is a dark blue tie, adorned with a member’s crest and the resonant message “Concordia Crescimus.” This sentiment, “Together We Grow,” aligns with the vision I’ve set for the imminent business meeting. When complemented with a checkered shirt and a sharply tailored jacket, it signifies not just my commitment to a high-level business style, but also a reflection of my unique personality.
It’s an opportune moment to coach the management team in our workshop, guiding them to adeptly present their business to prospective owners and partners, emphasizing value in a polished presentation format.
For several years, Swedish public service has closely followed American politics through a well-produced podcast series. This format has now expanded to cover American history, and today it touches upon my favorite president, Ronald Reagan.
Reagan was a masterful communicator who adeptly tailored his message to suit the times and the media, while effectively implementing his vision. Effective political communication is anchored in a clear, localized vision that is personally delivered to potential voters in their daily lives. Success comes from being able to convey presence, relate to realism, provide immediacy, and offer perceptual density — all of which Reagan achieved. He also excelled at conceptualizing and packaging main topics using almost Hollywood-style introductions, such as his references to the “evil empire” and initiating a “Star Wars” defense strategy through effective communication, which led a major eastern empire to nearly bankrupt itself in an arms race.
As a communicator in the business world, I’m inspired by his method of crafting impactful messages that grow in value.
