A few years ago, or rather quite a few years since I’ve been around for a while in various business areas, I worked on a project involving one of Sweden’s greatest contemporary entrepreneurs, known for his innovation and creativity. He instilled in me the importance of business intelligence for business development - to always observe what the most successful or biggest players in various industries are doing, and to draw inspiration for the growth of your own or other businesses.
In a multidimensional city like Hamburg, embarking on a voyage of discovery can be energizing, sparking new ideas, fueling the hunt for inspiration, and contributing to creativity.
I came across the brand collaboration between Veuve Clicquot and SMEG. Two powerful and iconic brands unite to deliver what everyone wants: chilled champagne for a picnic (image 1). Hackett is a brand with strong attributes that draws heavily from its English origins. An entrance featuring an umbrella as the door handle immediately immerses the target audience in the right experience (image 2). Woolrich remains true to its origins and rich history as it contends with today’s competition. The imagery is unique and modern, deeply rooted in its history and uniqueness (image 3).
I thrive on the blend of business and leisure, fully immersing myself in the atmosphere of each host city. I effortlessly merge business interactions with the vibrancy of street life, embodying the cosmopolitan lifestyle in all its glory.
A Day in Hamburg.
At 8 AM, I head to Jungfernstieg station via U-Bahn. I enjoy breakfast at Alex cafe, bistro, bar, and restaurant at Alsterpavillon, where I take pleasure in the view of Alster lake while reading today's newspaper (picture 1). After breakfast, I go for a leisurely walk around Binnenalster, one of Hamburg's artificial lakes, starting from Ballindamm, a boulevard in the inner city. Along the way, I pass by the Hapag-Lloyd building and the headquarters of various private banks. The street is abuzz with activity, a blend of rushing business people and laid-back locals enjoying the morning air. The aroma of coffee wafting from nearby cafes, the crisp morning air, the melodic chatter of passersby, and the architectural elegance of the buildings all contribute to the distinct charm of this street. I conclude my stroll at Neuer Jungfernstieg, a riverside promenade on the west bank of Binnenalster.
If I have a meeting or some spare time, I combine the walk with a longer path to visit the last British colony on the Continent. As a reciprocal member of the Anglo-German Club, located in the heart of the sophisticated Harvestehude district, I meet other members who are socially involved, valuing and cultivating civility in their interactions. This club, steeped in history, serves as a hub for intellectual and cultural exchanges in an impressive villa complete with a lush garden.
A shorter walk just around Binnenalster and Neuer Jungfernstieg, with the tinkling of coffee cups from the outdoor cafés and the serene hum of the city in the background, makes Neuer Jungfernstieg a delightful and relaxing culmination to my stroll. This route includes a visit to my other reciprocal club, Übersee-Club. This prestigious venue, situated in a grand old building, attracts outstanding minds from the worlds of commerce, politics, culture, and learning – a "talking gallery," to quote famous banker Max M. Warburg at the association's founding assembly in 1922. It's a perfect place to set up business meetings. This is a classic club with a long history of events featuring well-regarded speakers from around the world.
I then return to Jungfernstieg Promenade and the stunning Alsterhaus, part of the KaDeWe Group. Alsterhaus today extends over an area of 24,000 m² in an exclusive ambiance, blending a historic building with a modern interior. The Fashion floors of Alsterhaus follow the basic concept of the building, combining tradition with local identity and international influences. Alsterhaus is more than just a department store—it's an institution in Hamburg, representing the city's flair for fashion and quality.
Later, I visit Eric: Barbier, our barbershop on the 1st floor, where one can find everything for men, from haircuts to beard correction to pedicures (picture 2).
My day ends with a late lunch on the 4th floor, a haven for curious and discerning gourmets (picture 3).
As a businessman with a deep passion for our society, my interests extend beyond the realms of business. I have a huge heart for community development and actively participate as a citizen and a member of a think tank, contributing to the betterment of our society.
The autobahn is always heavily motorized, and sometimes you need to take a break. So, I decided to enter the nearest town in search of an espresso, only to unexpectedly encounter a haunting reminder of one of the darkest hours in our civilization’s history. The signs along the streets display nameplates and addresses of families who were tragically deported to their deaths. After that moment, I started to write down the foundations of our civilization and how we shall continue to develop our society.
Together, drawing strength from our diverse backgrounds, we strive towards a shared goal—a society built on equal values and inclusive of everyone’s individual will.
The significant impact of Judaism and other religions on Western culture is attributed to its distinctive connection with Christianity and its role in the formation of Western society and the development of European cultural identity. This combination has been a major source of social services, such as schooling and medical care, and an inspiration for art, culture, and philosophy, drawing upon the intellectual achievements of the Islamic world. Within this historical context, fundamental values like free speech, individual conscience, laws, democracy, and equality have evolved and thrived to become the foundation of Western civilization—a society shaped by civilian opinions, where violence and despotism are replaced by parliaments and independent courts, and laws are crafted to foster the growth of freedom, comfort, and culture.

Dusseldorf is renowned as an international business and financial centre, celebrated for its fashion and corporate headquarters. The city is also known for its influence on electronic/experimental music (Kraftwerk) and boasts a thriving Japanese community.
I have dedicated a significant portion of my business life to creating, developing, and maintaining business relations. Whether building networks, collaborations, or seeking ways to influence, I act as a mastermind in the network, offering innovative approaches to nurture relationships. While online meetings have their merits, I believe that true progress is made in real-life interactions.
The concept of European cafes provides my perfect playground to invite and explore new business opportunities at the same table.

The attentive waiter, dressed impeccably in a traditional uniform, guides you to your table, presenting a continental menu from breakfast to avec. Sipping your coffee, you absorb the lively street buzz, feeling the timeless allure. Creating a delightful morning treat, fresh pastries beckon. As the day unfolds, the café transforms into a sanctuary for relaxation and leisurely meals. The elegant ambiance and courteous service elevate the experience. Amidst the clinking of cutlery and lively conversations, you become part of the cafe's storied tapestry with parks, cafes, and palaces.
