As sardines are on today’s menu, the table runner features Stig Lindberg’s fish motif, woven by Ekelund Linneväveri

Today’s setup brings together:

The table is by EMU, the Italian outdoor furniture manufacturer founded in 1951. The chairs are polypropylene models from Vitra, the Swiss furniture company known for its long collaboration with leading international designers.

As sardines are on today’s menu, the table runner features Stig Lindberg’s fish motif, woven by Ekelund Linneväveri. Lindberg was one of Sweden’s leading designers, working across porcelain, textiles and graphic design. Ekelund has a long tradition of textile production in Sweden.

The sardines will be served on the Fish & Fish aluminium platter by Serax, designed by Paola Navone. The olives are presented in a Le Creuset stoneware bowl.

So this is the framework. Next comes the porcelain, glassware, cutlery and, finally, the food.

Interior Design of the Week: This week, my styling, as always, embraces the clean lines of Nordic design, now enriched with a subtle Mediterranean influence.

At the heart of the setting is the iconic Superellipse table, designed by Piet Hein and Bruno Mathsson and produced by Fritz Hansen, paired with the timeless Myran chairs by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen.

The table is dressed with the Citroner table runner, designed by Betty Svensson for Ekelund Linneväveri. Woven in Sweden, it reflects Ekelund Linneväveri’s centuries-old weaving tradition and exceptional craftsmanship while adding a fresh Mediterranean touch with its vibrant lemon motif.

Completing the composition is the Fish & Fish aluminium serving platter, designed by Paola Navone for Serax. Its sculptural silhouette and hammered finish add texture and contemporary elegance.
