Balancing High-Stakes Corporate Management with a Commitment to Fitness: My Journey in the Second Quarter

Welcome to my secret garden. I’ve had the opportunity to utilize a private garden in my office - my sanctuary for staying fit.

The second quarter is always busy in my line of business. As a service provider to public companies, they are obligated to report to the market quarterly and annually, typically producing two types of reports in the second quarter. Annual meetings often fall within this period. I’m in a position to manage and communicate these projects. However, this second quarter has also been laden with assignments and special tasks such as new share issuances, mergers and acquisitions, strategic board workshops, and coaching within growth companies, among others.

Consequently, my usual exercise regimen and training have had to take a backseat amidst these custom-made projects. Now, I am back on track to adhere to a 10-week exercise agenda. I’ve successfully completed two weeks, both in my secret garden and in my surrounding area.

As I monitor the clock at the train station, I am ready to depart after completing a mission. The task at hand was to deliver a persuasive and high-value presentation. I'm fastening my cufflinks and fine-tuning my style in preparation for the committee meeting. Today's setting isn't strictly business, which allows me the opportunity to shake things up a bit. I'm introducing a splash of colour with a summer-friendly blend of pink and white. This approach allows me to express my personality while maintaining professionalism, thanks to my unique take on the summer tie.

I aim to evolve the conventional dress code slightly by incorporating fresh colours, all the while ensuring that everything remains well-balanced for the summer. Moreover, I'm making a statement that pink isn't exclusive to one gender – we should confidently embrace it too. The objective is to step outside the box, yet maintain a business-like demeanour as an official representative. My goal is to instill confidence and value, thereby bolstering our brand for future collaborations.

I am pleased to reflect on a productive six months in 2023, marked by successful assignments and client deliveries. As usual, I invited my board of directors to a summer dinner, sharing insightful words and expressing gratitude.

-We journey through the city, bathed in warmth and light, adorned in beautiful clothes. Every corner holds a new story, a fresh perspective, making us rich with experiences. In its infinite wisdom, life always bestows upon us a few years to bask in the sweetness of victory. These moments of triumph, big or small, remind us of our journey's worth, instilling in us a sense of profound gratitude.

Are you a management consultant?

While I don't function as a traditional management consultant, I often join management teams for short-term or long-term tasks, assisting organisations from a business management standpoint, either in a specific role or for various business development initiatives.

Do you serve as a board member?

I have held and currently hold board positions for publicly traded companies across all three significant marketplaces in Sweden, and for unlisted companies, either as a representative for a significant shareholder or as an independent board member.

Do you engage in corporate communications?

I am involved in corporate communications, working either on projects to create regulatory or value-enhancing communications, or assuming an overarching responsibility to manage investor relations.

Are you an investor?

I no longer function as an investor. In the past, I worked for several renowned Swedish investors. Nowadays, I focus on consulting tasks in management and communication and accept board positions.

Do you work in international relations?

Although I don't hold a professional role in international relations, I undertake assignments that aim to foster trade between countries, for example.
