It’s just a question of time. Different meetings within 8 hours, each with a change of style.
A fully scheduled day started in almost all red, combining British street style with a new wave touch by tie, for a working session contributing to the development of European society.
Transitioning to all summer white with blue stripes and squares for a business networking lunch, including round table presentations.
Ending the day in a midnight blue tuxedo jacket, boldly paired with black, for a traditional seasonal black-tie dinner in a fellowship.
Among the board workshop sessions that I most enjoy and am proud to have created through my know-how, experience, and network, are those designed to infuse boards with a sense of inspiration and vitality. The latest session was hosted in a sophisticated salon located in a prominent area of London, renowned for its elegant atmosphere and distinguished setting. This environment was specifically chosen to foster a sense of inspiration and vitality among the board members.
The session uniquely blends a tea lunch with the privilege of accessing a reading room, along with a stimulating task. Each board member is challenged to identify three headlines in international newspapers that are relevant to business or business development, focusing on business prospects over the next 1-3 years.
This methodology aligns with the vital role that boards play in the formulation of an organization’s strategic goals. It demands a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and evolving trends. Effective boards transcend the traditional role of merely approving strategies; they are actively involved in shaping them, contributing invaluable perspectives and insights from their diverse experiences and expertise.
Concluded a working session in London aimed at developing board sessions and exploring new perspectives on business development. Here’s a personal story background and tip for our next meeting in London: it’s an excellent opportunity to gain energy and ideas, and also to inject some fun into business or management development.
Hello again, apologies for the interruption, but we overlooked one detail. Let’s revisit the stories about our ‘Italy in London’, or, more precisely, Soho, that we didn’t mention last time. It’s wonderful to traverse Soho street by street in search of that special one. This story began a year ago. It was a Saturday, during that interim period between lunch and dinner when every place transitions into a leisurely mode, only to reopen a few hours later. In this brief window of time, we discovered Bocca di Lupo just before it was closing, with no available reservations before our flight. However, we were captivated by the sight of the long Carrara marble bar, perfect for light meals, with a view of the open-plan kitchen. As connoisseurs of bar seating in restaurants, we had been awaiting this reservation for almost a year.
Bocca di Lupo is a marvelous small Italian restaurant on Archer Street in London’s Soho district, which was rated the best London restaurant in Time Out magazine. In our view, with our discerning ability to discover and experience the city’s ambiance, it’s a place that enhances the senses and sets the stage for a memorable evening. Take a seat at the bar, order a Negroni, look around, smile, and explore the menu. This is life.
I have been invited to join another society and have received a tie clip as a member.
The Society of Bankers, founded over a century ago in Gothenburg in the style of an English club, today acts as a bridge linking past and present professionals from various banks and financial companies.
