Functional training, grocery edition

Functional training, grocery edition

I went for a power walk with a stop at the local store and somehow came out with several kilos of potatoes, bananas, a pineapple, yoghurt and 24 eggs.

The rucksack was completely full, with the eggs sticking out of the top. So the walk home became a different kind of training session. Balance the rucksack, keep the eggs from falling out, and coordinate every step so the potatoes and bananas did not crush them.

Functional training, grocery edition.

Morning start with walking and balanced breakfast

Morning start with walking and balanced breakfast

Morning Start

  • Water
  • Walk with a walking stick and 8 kg resistance

Breakfast

This morning I had:

  • Milk — protein, calcium, and hydration
  • Banana — energy and potassium
  • Oats — fiber and slow-release carbohydrates
  • Yogurt — protein and satiety
  • Cardamom — flavor and aroma

It was a simple and balanced breakfast providing carbohydrates for energy, protein for recovery, and fiber for sustained fullness.

Later Today

  • Salmon dinner
  • Weightlifting session

A salmon dinner will add high-quality protein and omega-3 fatty acids, making it a good complement to today’s training and overall health goals.
